Project Manager

Job Profile and Description

Project Management is the core company activity, which is the application of skills, knowledge, techniques, and tools throughout the project activities to achieve the predetermined objectives of quality, scope, cost, and time, to the equal expectations of those involved. On the whole, project manager is responsible for the coordination, direction, implementation, control and completion, execution of specific projects consistently with company strategy, goals and commitments. Project Managers use project management software to maintain a track of project deliverables and resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

Managing project development and execution from instauration to closure.
Working with Owner and Architect for the culmination of project charter outlining goals, budget, timing, deliverables, project scope, and required resources.
Completing work breakdown structure for the estimation of efforts needed for each task.
Preparing and providing a project schedule to all participants to indentify the commencement of their tasks.
Communicating clearly the expectations to the Owner, Architect and other team members.
Resolving issues and solving problems throughout the project cycle.
Determining the requirement of external contractors or consultants to accomplish the project plan, recruiting and managing appropriate staffing if required.
Tracking and reporting project milestones and providing status reports to the Owner and Architect.
Leading, coaching, and motivating members of project team on a positive basis.
Determining the test results of project and completing post-project evaluations to determine the expected results.
Developing tools and applying best practices for the execution and project management.
Ensuring successful archive of project documents after the project completion.

Skills and Specifications

Knowledge of project management tools and software packages.
Ability to operate well in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Operational, technical marketing and management skills.
Must be a good communicator.
Leadership qualities and excellent problem-solving ability.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technology related field from an accredited institution.
5-10 years hand-on experience in project management activities.
Masters degree in Business related field is an added advantage

Construction Superintendent

Job Profile and Description

A construction superintendent is a person who plans and ensures the coordination of construction jobs. He has the responsibility of supervising the construction project. He ensures that the quality of work and materials is upheld and that the budget is followed as planned. He is entitled with the total supervision of all the operations on the site. He ensures that the workers are implementing what is on the design plan. He monitors the workers and the progress of the project and reports to his Project Manager, as well as to the rest of the Project Team as required. He is held liable of any happenings at the construction site and sees to it that the project is completed in time and that the laid down standards are met. His work will either be on commercial or residential projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensuring that both the health and safety project plans are implemented and strictly adhered to
Being on site to oversee all the construction process
Ensuring that the budget is followed in terms of purchases and wages
Organizing the workers and ensuring that they are performing as required
Recording the total costs for materials bought and payments for work done
General inspection of the workers and their performance and safety
Ensuring that the stipulated safety rules and regulations are met
Liaises with government inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety
Follows the project construction process to ensure that it is completed in time
Supervises the subcontractors and ensures that they are punctual and that they deliver
Ensure that quality is preserved in the construction process and that the budget is maintained
Maintaining daily job reports

Education and Qualifications

High School Diploma, basic degree in Construction Management or similar is preferred
